Announcing the FULLY ONLINE 2020 Fall Student Auditions (Deadline Nov. 4, 2020)

Your NATS Michigan Board is thrilled to announce that this year's Fall Student Auditions are moving forward as a fully online event.This is a fantastic opportunity for all of us and our students to showcase the work we've done in our new teaching & learning environments.We have worked to make the categories as diverse and inclusive as possible. After the successful addition of Youth and Adult Categories last year, we have now added two more new categories for CCM (Contemporary Commercial Music) singers! This year we will also invite students to enter in more than one category, and have lowered the fee structure both for teachers, and for students entering multiple categories.Online auditions will be conducted just like live auditions, judging assignments will be made accessible on the AuditionWare site. Judges will review, critique, score and complete comment sheets for each singer in their assigned category. These will be submitted through the AuditionWare site. Winners w…

NATS Michigan Auditions Deadline October 15th!

Hello all,
Keep in mind that our deadline to register is fast approaching-- Tuesday October 15th.  The auditions will take place at Hope College in Holland MI on Saturday November 2nd. 

The cost is $25 per teacher plus $25 per student.  You are more than welcome to bring your own pianist, if you'd like to use a staff accompanist, the fee will be $40 per singer.

2019 Great Lakes NATSAA Auditions Deadline September 9th

As announced in March the Great Lakes Region NATSAA auditions will be at Purdue University Fort Wayne.  The dates are November 8th and 9th.   If you've never participated or directed students to participate in NATSAA, click here to read more about it.  It's intended to help singers launch their professional careers.  The age range is 21-35 as of the application deadline.  For details on our Great Lakes Preliminary Round please click here to be directed to the Great Lakes Regional website.

National Music Theater Competition Deadline September 15

The application fee for students of NATS members is $75.  Students ages 20-28 (as of September 5 2019) may compete online or in person for significant prizes:  1st Prize: $5,000 PLUS a concert at the next NATS National Conference, $1,000 Gift Certificate from Hal Leonard, Career Management Services package from Stage Door Connections.

2nd Prize: $2,500 PLUS a $500 Gift Certificate from Hal Leonard.


3rd Prize: $1,000 cash prize.


4th Prize: $750 cash prize.
The first national competition for the music theater soloist seeking the best emerging talent in 2020.The 2020 NMTC semifinal and final rounds will be held  in New York City at the Roosevelt Hotel Grand Ballroom, as part of the 2020 NATS Winter Workshop, January 10-12, 2020. 
Deadline to apply is September 15th.  Students have until October 15th to upload preliminary videos.https://www.nats.org/music_theater_competition.html

Announcing NATS Michigan Fall 2019 Student Auditions

Many thanks to Dr. Jung Woo Kim and our colleagues at Hope College for offering to host our Fall 2019 Michigan Student Auditions.  We'll enjoy convening there on Saturday November 2, 2019. Registration will open after Labor Day this fall.  An email with further detail will be sent to all members of our NATS Michigan Chapter at the end of August.
